Dairy Pond Road Gets New Sidewalk

Walkers and hikers in Norris can now enjoy walking along the entire 1.2 mile length New sidewalk on Dairy Pond in Norris TNof Dairy Pond Road without having to keep one eye on approaching traffic.  Long considered one of our community’s prettiest neighborhoods, this street has also been viewed as one of the most dangerous for walking.

With its collection of neat, attractive bungalows and large, executive-style homes and their well-groomed lawns and small horse farms, Dairy Pond has long been appealing to anyone who loves walking the streets of Norris.

Norris Area Spotlighted in New National Geographic Web Site

Said to be as a historically significant asset for everyone who visits or lives in the Valley, this venture g seeks to celebrate the East Tennessee River Valley region as a world-class destination, while contributing to the economic health of the region by promoting sustainable tourism.

Focusing on a region “Where Rivers and Mountains Meet,” from the Smoky Mountains through Knoxville and south to Chattanooga and north Georgia, the Mapguide spotlights such Norris area landmarks as Norris Lake, Big Ridge and Norris Dam State Parks, as well as the Museum of Appalachia and its annual Fall Homecoming. On a more local note, a number of photographs by well-known photographer Dick Doub are included with several of the articles.
